STRESS RELIEF ARCHIVES

Feb 2008 - 1 Article

The "Standard Operating Guideline For Life" is the Holy Bible.

"The 'Eyes' Have It"

"How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes are doves."

- Song of Songs 1:15 (NIV)

Sound like a Valentines' Day card from Hallmark? Nope. It's from the SOG for life... our Bible. There is a beautiful book in the Old Testament called "The Song of Songs" or, in some translations, "The Song of Solomon."

This is a song written by King Solomon, a son of King David. Though the song is written to a Shulamite woman, it is believed to also be the picture of a love relationship with our REAL CHIEF. Elsewhere in the Bible, believers (the church) are called 'the bride of Christ."

This Valentine's Day, pull out your Bible. Take turns reading the entire book of Song of Songs to your spouse... there are male and female lines spoken in these verses... and they are some of the most beautiful and romantic verses you have ever read.

As you share your love for one another, seek GOD's face in your relationship. Ask HIM to become the main focus of your relationship. Build first a relationship with HIM and the relationship with your spouse will just get better and better.

Cindy and I celebrate our anniversary this month. Without CHRIST at the center of our marriage, I don't believe the love relationship we have with each other would have survived.

Happy Valentine, Cindy, I love you. I love that JESUS has brought us together to serve...

...On HIS Shift,
